Nearly 25,000 households in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, producing wind gusts topping over 100 km/h.

Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Impact

Residents reported giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the widespread outages.
